The Grand Lodge of Canada in the Province of Ontario has signed up to be a "Partner for Life" with Canadian Blood Services. This nationwide program is designed for corporate and community organizations. Partners for Life members commit to saving lives by donating blood as a team, and all blood donations can now be tracked and recorded electronically.
The Toronto Humber Valley District has pledged to donate 30 units before the end of 2009. This is our lifesaving goal for this year and we now have a program ID number that all Masons, family members and friends can use when making a blood donation.
This number is MASO-006225. It is important to bring this number to all donor clinics so that Tor. Humber Valley receives credit for every donation.
With every blood donation, three lives can be saved! The demand for blood is ongoing; we require the support of ALL Masons in Toronto Humber Valley District to ensure that all Canadians receive the blood and blood products they need.
"Certificates of Membership" demonstrate that our lodges and District are committed to saving lives in our community; as well "Certificates of Recognition" are presented annually to lodges and districts that meet their commitment. These certificates, presented by Grand Lodge, recognize milestones of Masons throughout the jurisdiction. The numbers currently recognized are as follows:
"First Time Donor", 25, 50, 75, 100, 150, etc. Please notify your lodge blood donor Chair if you have reached any of these milestones.
Remember brethren, the greatest benefit of all will be the fact that our District has saved lives!
Should you require additional information, please refer to the District summons for my contact numbers.
Sincerely and Fraternally,
V. Wor. Bro. Harry Ansara
Toronto Humber Valley District Blood Donor Chair.

Note: To arrange to give blood on behalf of our district, please visit the Canadian Blood Services website here, and remember to give your donation on our districts behalf by providing them whith our unique donation number (MASO-006225). Get creative and have your whole lodge and their families donate on a given day. Support your fellow Canadians, Those in need of blood, your brethren.
